The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step
Have you been putting off taking action towards your goals because it seems too overwhelming to even figure out where to start? Too often we look at the end result we’re trying to achieve (like losing 50 pounds) and end up throwing our hands up in the air in desperation because the challenge of reaching that destination seems completely insurmountable!
Losing weight and getting healthy isn’t like flipping a switch — from one day to the next you are either off or on… no! Ease up on the idea of being “perfect” – forget trying to eliminate carbs, exercise and drink a gallon of water every day in one single day – or even week. You know you won’t reach your goal overnight, so why expect that you’ll be able to suddenly take on all the tasks you’ll need to achieve your mission that quickly too?
Find one small step you can take today towards your goal. One single thing you know you can accomplish by the day’s end. It won’t be losing 50 pounds, but it might be taking a 10 minute walk after dinner instead of sitting on the couch. Small steps can equal big lasting results, but ONLY if you start taking them, one small step at a time.
