Learning to enjoy the present is not only a healthy habit; it can also help you stay more motivated to keep working towards your goals.
One Swiss study found that overweight participants in a weight-loss program were more successful if their health related goals were directed toward the positive behaviors that result in weight loss, not simply targeted at the weight loss itself. So don’t just celebrate when the number on the scale drops, but rather applaud daily successes (like fitting in your workout, preparing healthy meals and getting enough sleep) to stay more motivated, fulfilled and on track.
