When we think of living a healthy lifestyle, we tend to think of eating nutritious foods, getting regular exercise and plenty of sleep, but what you may not realize is that a consistent practice of gratitude is great for your health too! Research shows that regularly expressing gratitude (either by journaling, writing letters or through prayer or meditation) can have a direct and positive effect on your well-being. Studies have found that giving thanks may make you feel more optimistic about your life, improve your happiness level, help you exercise more often and even see your doctor less.
Harvard Medical School defines gratitude as “a thankful appreciation for what an individual receives, whether tangible or intangible. With gratitude, people acknowledge the goodness in their lives … As a result, gratitude also helps people connect to something larger than themselves as individuals–whether to other people, nature, or a higher power,” and notes that expressing thanks may be one of the simplest ways we can feel better. Practicing gratitude can be simple — taking some time each day to journal about something you are thankful for, writing a note to (or telling) someone what you appreciate about them, or reflecting in prayer or meditation on all of the things you are thankful for — can be great ways to begin sharing your thoughts of thankfulness. Find something that resonates with you and try to incorporate your favorite ways of sharing your appreciation as often as you can into your regular routine.
We hope these quotes about expressing gratitude inspire you to consider adding being thankful to your priorities when it comes to healthy habits so that you can reap all of the wonderful benefits that come to you and those around you when we put thankfulness into practice on a regular basis.

Yes, gratitude is just a muscle, we must work out on it… exactly as we regularly work on our physical ones with Jessica & Peanut!
Thank you! ❤
I learned being grateful is an action, and it requires me to do something to express my thankfulness. It can mean taking care of those I love, even myself, or recognizing the many blessing in my life and doing my best to treasure them by what I do daily.
If I’m feeling out of sorts, I’ll say a mantra that includes being grateful and humble for the gifts I’ve received. It soothes what ever was bothering me, even loss of a loved one.
Was on the verge of having a not-so-pleasant day (which would have been my own fault) but as per usual, Jessics and Peanut’s wise words helped. Molti grazi!

On the days where I’m too hard on myself because I missed a work out, I remind myself that something is better than nothing – it’s a journey, not a sprint. Walk On Jessica, Peanut and Team!
Excellent! And I am grateful for you, Jessica Smith!
